This is a redesign of the legend of Arthur and the Sword. It was thought to be a character design for an animated TV series for teens, where Arthur is an alien who gets on a space tournament to retrieve the sword Excalibur. He is a rebellious teenager and was adopted by the deceased king's hand, who actually used him almost as a slave to work for him. Arthur's childhood was sad and violent, and his response to that was to get angry at not just his "father", but at the whole world. He gets in the tournament to get away from his home and get the money prize. What he doesn't know is that he is actually the deceased king's son, and that only he could put his hand on the sword and activate its power. And that would also mean he would become the king, and would have to learn about honor, friendship, humility, responsibility, and to control his anger - for the world is not responsible for his pain, and it can actually be full of good people.
